shooting on the fly

On my commute I always carry one of my cameras. These photos were taken while commuting, using a variety of my cameras (some old, some new, some shiny and expensive, some cheap and crappy). Be it by bus, train, car or walking along the street, mostly in San Francisco or the East Bay, these are shots taken from the hip, quickly but purposefully composed, or somewhere in between----but all taken on the fly...

This is quite wonderful. How do you do this day-by-day when you use film and different cameras? It must get confusing. Do you write down each day's picture in a notebook or develop the rolls that very day? Do you burn a whole roll and then develop it? Or do you switch cameras each day and wait for the rolls to finish? Then how do you keep track? I'm curious because I thought of starting another 365 project, or similar, but want to make it as easy as possible to recall the information.

I love your pictures and blog, by the way.
